The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2) (Court) is the biggest and busiest court in the federal judicial system, having broad jurisdiction across areas including family law, migration, bankruptcy, fair work, administrative law, intellectual property and consumer law. Sitting in all capital cities, the Court comprises 88 judges, hundreds of legal, social science and related support staff, and has the largest proportion of migration filings in the federal jurisdiction
The Court is eager to engage experienced migration lawyers who are committed to delivering increased access to justice through ensuring the timely flow of migration cases through the Court.
This is an exciting opportunity to help drive important migration caseload reforms through the exercise of delegated judicial functions.
In addition to directions hearings and callover lists, Judicial Registrars provide critical support to Judges, hearing and determining a variety of interlocutory applications, including certain applications for summary dismissal and for reinstatement
Judicial Registrars alleviate workload pressures on judges and support the development of coherent and consistent practices and procedures, facilitating the just resolution of migration proceedings according to law and as quickly, inexpensively and efficiently as possible.
In addition to rewarding work, successful applicants will receive the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic, collaborative national team and are eligible to receive attractive remuneration packages of between $193,988 - $201,592 per annum, including 15.4% superannuation.
