Our mission is to improve the health of the community through immunisation and the prevention of infectious diseases. We achieve this by leading national studies focusing on a range of diseases including influenza, pneumococcal, meningococcal, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), COVID-19 and whooping cough.
Our studies play a vital role in the development and evaluation of vaccines recommended for children and adults throughout Australia.
The Opportunity
The Research Nurse will manage the planning, execution, and evaluation of research projects within the Vaccine Trial Group, ensuring adherence to protocol objectives as well as supporting the Vaccine Trial Group by recruiting, enrolling, and monitoring study participants, ensuring accurate and high-quality data collection for research on childhood conditions of public health importance in collaboration with Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
Review all ethically approved methods of recruitment and use these strategies to help find potential eligible subjects for particular studies.
Confirm patient suitability and eligibility with regards to protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Collection of data in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and research standards.
Database management (familiarity with computer systems including excel and electronic data capture).
Communicate with local ethics committee and other relevant departments regarding the severe adverse events, protocol changes.
This is an ongoing, full-time role based at Perth Children’s Hospital.
About You
The successful applicant must possess the following:
Registered Nurse – current AHPRA Registered
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate excellent team working skills as well as ability to work using own initiative.
Time management skills/ability to prioritize workload.
Computer literacy – Familiarity with computer systems including excel and electronic data capture.
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
Current C class driver’s license.
Desired:
Previous research experience.
Paediatric experience.
