Growing manufacturing business in Moolap is looking for a star worker to join our production team.

Our small but growing family business is looking for a standout new employee to help us manufacture acrylic splashbacks.

The job is full-time.

But be warned, it’s pretty hard work.

You’ll be cutting acrylic sheets on a panel saw, sanding them, packing them and cleaning up.

You might get involved in spray-painting them as well.

And we have a CNC router, so experience with this (and with drawing tools) would be a bonus, but certainly not essential.

Likewise, any experience with large format digital printers would be a bonus, but certainly not essential.

However, we’re not looking for someone purely task-oriented.

You’ll need to be responsible for your work day. We’ll give you a list of what needs to be done and you’ll go out and do it by following our work processes and our written work sheets.

And because it’s not a big team, you’ll have your hand in a bit of everything.

You’ll need to be able to work out problems for yourself, like for example how best to use the acrylic sheets to get the best use out of them.

Plus you’ll have the opportunity to leave your mark by looking for ways we can improve, and have a hand in making these changes.

What you need:

You’ll need to be hands-on. This isn’t an office job. It’s a physical job working with product and tools.

Enthusiasm. We're not expecting you to be whistling Disney tunes all day with a smile on your face. However we expect you to bring your A-game, to work hard and to concentrate.

You’ll need to be strong. Not Olympic weightlifter strong, but strong enough to handle a reasonably heavy product without damaging it.

Prepared to take responsibility for the task you’re working on. We want you to take pride in your work, and pride in where you work.

To be able to work from 9am to 5pm. And to often do the last couple of hours on your own.

What you don’t need:

A forklift license, although it would be very helpful

Whitecards, certificates or anything like this

You don’t need to be a certain age either. Any age will do as long as you can do the job and you’ve got everything we need

You don’t need to be able to spraypaint, however it would be handy.

Here’s 5 reasons you should NOT apply.

You’re not that good at maths. There’s a difference between cutting 1020mm and 1200mm. If you can’t set a panel saw to the right spot consistently every time and you make silly mistakes then this job isn’t for you. Anything to do with measurements needs to be done accurately and precisely.

You’re not careful with the product. It’s not your money, it’s ours. And you should treat all the products you handle with care and respect.

You don’t like following instructions because you ‘know it all.’ We’ve been doing this long enough to know how to do it. And sure, we love ideas on how to do things better but at the end of the day we know how we like things to be done.

You can’t turn up on time. Nothing annoys us more than a lack of punctuality. If you start at 9:00, be here at 9:00 enthusiastic and ready to go

You're an angry wound up kind of person, a ticking time bomb who likes taking your temper out at work. Been there, done that. Not happening again.
