About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join our Rheumatology team at Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN). In this role, you will work alongside a small team of physiotherapists that provide expert musculoskeletal assessment and management for outpatients referred to Rheumatology, working closely within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. You will be integral in leading the self-management group program for rheumatology outpatients, in partnership with the Senior Rheumatology Psychologist. You will also contribute to the physiotherapist-led rheumatology clinic, offering early assessment and conservative management strategies to support timely diagnosis and treatment.
As a key member of the team, your work will be vital in reducing the non-inflammatory patient burden on rheumatologists and ensuring that patients with inflammatory conditions are promptly identified and managed. Your advanced clinical reasoning, ability to interpret complex pathology and imaging results, and understanding of autoimmune rheumatological disorders will be central to your success in this role. In addition to your clinical work, you will support research, education, and service development activities under the guidance of the Director of Rheumatology, helping to shape high-quality, evidence-based care for the future.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated physiotherapist with a strong background in musculoskeletal care and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred services. You bring clinical leadership, sound judgement, and a collaborative mindset to a multidisciplinary setting. To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant Qualifications & Experience: A recognised physiotherapy degree and substantial experience managing complex musculoskeletal and rheumatological conditions.
Advanced Clinical & Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead teams, and communicate effectively across professional boundaries.
Strong Organisational & Leadership Abilities: Proven capacity to prioritise, manage time efficiently, and contribute to service development initiatives.
Commitment to Professional Growth: Actively engaged in ongoing learning, with a solid understanding of evidence-based practice, research, and clinical evaluation.
