- More than one position. Full-time temporary from 2/2/2026 up to 31/1/2027
- Incumbents to be appointed on 6 month or yearly contracts
Duration of the training program in CALHN: 12 months
Term of the Contract: 3 Years in line with clause 52 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement
At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3 year contract if necessary.
About the role
You will provide high quality services in the field of Endocrine & Metabolic Medicine under the supervision of the Senior Endocrine and Metabolic staff. Accepting clinical responsibility under gradually diminishing supervision, you will undertake with care and skill the management of patients and liaise with patients' General Practitioners where indicated. Maintaining good communication and liaison with other members of the team, you will perfect your communication and counselling skills, as well as a range of procedural skills for independent specialist practice. Maintaining a high standard of patient care on inpatients and outpatients, you will keep high quality, readily accessible records. A key part of your role will be contributing to medical teaching/training programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level and providing timely feedback to junior medical staff.
Must be eligible to undertake an Advanced Training Program as set out by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP)
i.e. Pass in RACP part 1 (written and clinical) examination
