About the Physiotherapy role

This role is a full time, community-based physiotherapy employee position in North Sydney and surrounds.
The desirable applicant will be one who is looking for a fun team and a well-developed physiotherapy program that includes a 5-year professional development plan and regular ongoing supervision with ample opportunity for learning.
The role will provide our new team member with clinical support and professional development through monthly clinical supervision, in-services, our quality assurance program plus much more so that they are able to continue building upon their firm foundation of clinical practice. The successful applicant will receive all of the support they need via our 16-week onboarding. They will then be fast tracked onto joining our specialist program where they will choose their area of expertise within disability, develop an individualised PD plan that Active Ability with support them to achieve, both financially and in work time to become the expert and ‘go to’ in that area!
The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to provide support and mentorship to other team members if interested, and will be given support to develop their people management skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing mobile physiotherapy services to Active Ability’s clients.
Assessing and treating clients in their own home, to carry out rehabilitation programs to improve functional independence and quality of life
Providing face to face and occasional tele-support to clients in community settings. Specifically, hydrotherapy, land-based, in the home or in the community, group homes, day programs
Providing equipment prescription and complete assistive technology applications
Providing exercise & behaviour change advice to clients living with disability or chronic/complex conditions
Providing appropriately targeted education for clients, carers and staff as required
Ensuring excellent written and verbal communication with key stakeholders as required including timely reports and exercise plans
Work efficiently and collaboratively with the team to ensure best practice & integrated client care
Skills and experience
Essential Selection Criteria:
Empathy and patience for your clients and a passion for supporting people with disability
Ability to obtain Registration with AHPRA and eligibility for accreditation with APA (Australian Physiotherapy Association)
Demonstrated ability as an independent worker who can exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters as well as working in a multi-disciplinary team for coordinated care.
Demonstrated high-level skills in the development of physiotherapy supports for a wide range of novel and complex conditions
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
Strong administrative and computer skills
National Police Check, Working With Children Check, valid drivers licence and vehicle
A problem solver with a can-do attitude
4+ years experience as a physiotherapist
Desirable skills:
Experience working with people who have an intellectual disability, mental illness or various neurological conditions
