ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Open Pit Trainee Truck Operator, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our open-pit mining site. You will be responsible for operating heavy haul trucks to transport materials within the mine site, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials to designated locations. This is a hands-on, entry-level position that will provide you with comprehensive training and the opportunity to develop your skills in operating mining equipment.

Experience operating a heavy rigid vehicle will be highly regarded, but not required.

REQUIREMENTS

Current unencumbered ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.

Experience in driving a heavy rigid vehicle (highly regarded, but not required).

A genuine interest in growing a career in mining, especially as an operator in heavy machineries.

Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.

Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.

A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.

Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.
