About the role:

We are currently recruiting for compassionate and reliable Home Care Workers and Home Care Domestic Support staff to join our team, supporting clients across Melbourne’s inner suburbs. These roles are ideal for individuals who live within 5km of the CBD and are passionate about helping others remain independent in their homes.

You will be servicing clients located in:
South Melbourne, Carlton, South Yarra, Docklands, St Kilda, Port Melbourne, Fitzroy, and Richmond and surrounding communities.

Home Care Workers provide direct care and domestic assistance duties, as well as social support and transport as required for clients.

Home Care Domestic Support staff provide domestic assistance duties only, as well as social support and transport. This role does not require a qualification.

You will:

• Ensure that client’s rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living
• Work within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients’ conditions and escalate observations and concerns in accordance with Uniting AgeWell processes
• Promote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends
• Support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise
• Must have your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a current Victorian driver's licence

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents/clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.

• Certificate III/IV or equivalent in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or equivalent (or currently studying a Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing)
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Current and valid Victorian Driver's Licence
• Experience in a home care setting or providing domestics support is desirable
• Knowledge in community care with a commitment to high standards of care for clients and their families
• Understanding of client directed care
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

• A current Working With Children Check card
• Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
