As an Emergency Planning Cadet, you will be integral to supporting our Emergency Planning Department in delivering high-quality emergency management services to our clients. This role will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in emergency planning, project management, and consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake the duties of an Emergency Planning Cadet, learning under the guidance of senior consultants.
Assist in conducting short Emergency Management presentations.
Support Emergency Planning Trainers and Consultants in delivering presentations and exercises at client premises.
Utilise Microsoft Word and R&Rs Digital systems for report writing and generating Emergency Procedures.
Utilise PowerPoint to customise presentations to meet client-specific needs.
Assist in drafting and completing emergency management visual products.
Support in the preparation of emergency management deliverables.
Assist with scheduling site appointments and managing client compliance for training and exercise activities.
Support onboarding of new clients, project management tasks, and maintaining account records.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the various deliverables of the Emergency Planning Department.
Gain knowledge of Australian standards and state/federal legislation related to Emergency Planning.
Engage in basic level marketing activities to promote emergency management services.
Learn and understand the responsibilities and duties of Emergency Planning Consultants.
Skills and Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed relevant tertiary education (e.g., emergency management, disaster resilience, public safety).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Interest in emergency planning, management, and consultancy.
Knowledge of Australian standards and legislation (desired but not mandatory).
Personal Attributes:
Enthusiastic about learning and developing skills in emergency planning and management.
Proactive and willing to take initiative.
Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
