About the role

We have locations in Port Melbourne and South East Melbourne. This position will be based at our Port Melbourne facility and the shift operates from 12.30 to 8.30pm plus OT as required.

Qualifications & experience

Must have experience operating heavy machinery.

Minimum of 12 months operating experience - excavators, loaders & material handlers are an advantage.

Ability to take instruction and coordinate work activities in a fast paced environment.

Knowledge of recycling industry preferred.

Must be able to work autonomously.

Tasks & responsibilities

Sorting and Recycling at Recycling Centre.

Conduct daily machine pre-start checks / report of faults and damages on all plant.

Liaise with site manager to review daily operational requirements.

Operate heavy plant and machinery in a waste collection / disposal environment – including but not limited to front end loaders, excavators, and waste handlers.

Focus on waste recycling and landfill diversion practices.

Follow direction, establish work priorities, and meet targeted deadlines with minimal supervision.

Complete appropriate documentation in line with position including time sheets.

Collaborate with other internal staff to create efficient and safe processes.
