Here at West Oz Surplus, we are a family owned and run metal recycling company, with 25 years + in the industry.

We have strong ties with the heavy mining and equipment industry and we service energy utility companies around Western Australia. We sort, dispose and export scrap and redundant equipment.

We are seeking a dependable, fit & hard-working team member to join our small close-knit team that has a desire to learn metal throughout our multiple yards.

Qualifications & experience

A Minimum of a Heavy Rigid license (HR) is required, with at least 3 years experience.

Experience using a road ranger gear box (Unrestricted license) highly preferable

Experience with Marrell, Hook lift & Flat top advantageous

Ability to operate a crane truck preferable but not necessary

Forklift license is preferable to unload and load own trucks

Basic power tool knowledge & experience favourable

Drug & alcohol free, Police clearance preferable.

Tasks & responsibilities

Pickup and delivering a range of loads around the Perth metro area and the occasional regional trip

loading and unloading own trucks. consisting of bins and other miscellaneous goods

Restraining loads correctly

Keeping trucks maintained and clean

Occasional bin sorting of recyclable metals, dismantling machinery, when truck work isn't available
