About the Role:
Maxima’s valued client is currently seeking an experienced Customer Service Officer/Barista to work at a new, exciting First Nations cultural centre in Port Adelaide on a temporary basis.
The centre, which is due to open in June 2025, will facilitate a space for people to connect, learn and experience First Nations culture.
The hours of the role are expected to be 10am-2pm Monday-Sunday for approximately 3-4 months.
Candidates who identify as First Nations are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and serving beverages and pre-prepared sandwiches and pastries
- Providing high quality face to face customer service
- Restocking self-serve items as required
- Opening and closing the café according to site processes
- Ordering and receiving stock as needed
- Operating transactions using the point of sale system
About You:
- Strong previous experience operating commercial coffee equipment
- Current Food Handling Certificate (essential)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (desirable)
- Experience working with First Nations peoples and communities will be highly regarded
