Position Description and Duties
Position: Dietitian
Qualifications: APD required, CDE desirable
Hours per week: 38
Pay scale: As per MA000027.
Annual Leave: As per MA000027.
Leave Loading: As per MA000027.
Superannuation: as per national mandates
Commencement Date: ASAP
Primary Aim
Plan, implement and evaluate nutrition management of patients and clients of Knight Allied Health Care and deliver Dietetic clinics at relevant outreach areas, including inpatients. The post holder will also participate in providing health promotional and educational opportunities to Bundaberg and surrounding townships. It is desirable that the post holder will also be a Credentialed Diabetes Educator, or willing to work towards attaining this qualification to be able to provide Diabetes Education services to clients of Knight Allied Health Care.
Primary Duties
1. Plan, implement and evaluate evidence based medical nutrition therapy for clients of Knight Allied Health Care (including inpatients, outpatients, residents of aged care facilities and other companies) to achieve positive health outcomes.
2. Provide services to clients with a focus on self-empowerment and sustainable management of health outcomes.
3. Communicate effectively with clients, staff and other health care professionals with respect to nutrition management within the multi-disciplinary health care team
4. Liaise with other health professionals, including General Practice, non-government health services and government health services to achieve individualised treatment plans and preventative initiatives to reduce the impact nutrition related disease.
5. Systematically document all activity including statistics, inpatient and outpatient consultations, and communication with the health care team to meet organisational, legislative and legal requirements.
6. Provide support, direction and learning opportunities for other staff members within the “virtual” team
7. Maintain professional knowledge and skills related to areas of practice and attend all required in-service programs to ensure current professional/clinical development is maintained
8. Participate in continuing education, Quality Assurance and resource development.
General Duties
To report any Maintenance requirements
Inform Manager of any incidents so appropriate action can be initiated
Actively participate in staff meetings and other relevant meetings including staff development and appraisal sessions
Ensure time sheets are completed and hours of work are calculated daily
Ensure work tasks are completed within approved working hours unless prior approval from Manage is agree upon. There will be no Time of in Lieu (TOIL) accrued unless prior agreement with the Manager, and any accrued will be taken within 1 month of accrual or will be forfeited.

Confidentiality of clients, business and staff information is paramount. Breeches of Confidentiality are to be reported to the Manager immediately. Any breach, directly or indirectly, could be sufficient grounds for termination of employment with Knight Allied Health Care without notice.
