About the role

We are seeking an experienced Hook, Crane and Tilt Slide Driver to join our team at Scrappy's Metal Recycling in Albion, Victoria. As a full-time HR Truck Driver, you will play a crucial role in transporting scrap metal and other materials efficiently and safely to support our metal recycling operations.

What you'll be doing

Operating a hook-lift truck to load and transport scrap metal, waste materials and other heavy equipment

Adhering to all relevant safety and environmental regulations when handling and transporting materials

Conducting comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order

Maintaining detailed records of pickup and delivery activities, including weights, destinations and any incidents

Assisting with loading and unloading materials as needed

Providing excellent customer service to our clients in a timely and professional manner

What we're looking for

A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Hook Truck Driver in the road transport or logistics industry

A current Victorian Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's license

Strong knowledge of road rules, truck operation and load restraint requirements

Excellent driving skills and the ability to manoeuvre large vehicles in tight spaces

A commitment to safe work practices and a proven track record of incident-free driving

Strong communication and customer service skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A forklift license will advance your application
