About the role
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Manage working capital by coordinating with suppliers, customers, contractors, and staff.
Support financial reporting by preparing board and financial reports.
Perform bank and creditor coding and reconciliation using Xero.
Execute month-end processes, including journals and reconciliations.
Prepare, reconcile, and process BAS payments.
Conduct cashflow analysis and projections to support financial planning.
Document financial processes, including SOPs, and manage document retention.
Provide audit and tax support to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Process timesheets and claims, and follow up on payroll and invoicing queries.
Prepare payroll and invoicing using Astute and Xero, and manage debtor follow-up.
Handle statutory payments, including payroll tax, PAYG, Super, Workers Comp, and FBT, and perform end-of-year reconciliations.
About the candidate
Degree in Accounting or related field.
3+ years of work experience in accounting.
Experience with payroll processing and exposure to Xero.
Proficiency in bank and creditor coding and reconciliation with Xero.
Ability to prepare payroll and invoicing using Astute and Xero.
Skilled in cashflow analysis and projection.
Experience in audit and tax support.
Competence in BAS preparation, reconciliation, and payment.
Strong attention to detail.
Analytical thinking and effective communication skills.
Problem-solving skills.
Positive attitude and a proactive approach to work.
Consistently seeks to make improvements and automate processes.
Willingness to contribute to the team and collaborate effectively.
