Service:
Community Mental Health Team
The Community Mental Health Teams are located at both Port Augusta and Whyalla, providing specialised one-to-one counselling, group work, care coordination and health promotional activities to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social health and wellbeing. Workers provide information, education, counselling and support to adults, families and carers whose lives are affected by mental health issues. There are also specialist youth mental health clinicians based in the region and access to specialist older persons mental health services.

About the Role:
In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing the quality and safety of subacute-driven Mental Health services, delivering expert Occupational Therapy and consultancy to support the recovery of mental health consumers in rural and remote areas of South Australia. As a clinical leader, you will mentor and supervise Occupational Therapy professionals and students, with a strong focus on subacute care as a specialty area, while upholding high professional standards within the LHN MH.
You will have the opportunity to shape the future of Occupational Therapy within Mental Health by holding key portfolios, promoting service improvements, and fostering increased expertise in the discipline. This role also offers the chance to represent local teams and regions on important committees and contribute to significant projects that will influence the direction of care.
With a unique balance of 70% clinical and leadership duties, and 30% focused on Occupational Therapy leadership, portfolio development, and supervision, this is your chance to lead with purpose and make a lasting difference in the mental health landscape of South Australia.

About You:
- Must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and as a regulated profession be eligible for full registration as an Occupational Therapist within Australia.
