About the Role:
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer, Interior Architect, or Architect to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional with strong documentation and project management skills, and proven experience in the retail and commercial sectors. A solid understanding of Australian building codes and regulations is essential.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in managing client relationships, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and overseeing project delivery from concept to completion. The scope of work is diverse - ranging from bespoke fixture design to full-scale, high-end retail store design and documentation - ensuring no two days are the same.

Duties:

Collaborate with Senior Interior Designers and Architects in the design and delivery of the projects.

Assist in clarifying brief, determining scope of works and providing input on fee proposals.

Prepare sketches and concept diagrams to explain concepts (2D and 3D) and present to clients.

Assess compliance with Australian Standards and BCA/NCC.

Produce accurate and timely detailed documentation.

Managing clients and project work throughout various phases – Concept through to Construction.

Coordinate with specialist consultants.

Obtain necessary permits – Development Applications through to Occupancy Permits

Act as project lead to determine brief and scope, liaise with stakeholders on budget and detailing, manage programme – strong communication is imperative.

Attend onsite meetings, conduct site surveys and defects inspections Australia wide.

Project administration.

Skills and experience:

A recognised tertiary qualification within Australia in Design / Interior Design / Interior Architecture / Architecture.

Minimum of 5 - 8 years’ local experience, in the Retail and/or Commercial sectors.

Strong design skills and knowledge of the Australian Standards and BCA/NCC.

Project Management experience.

High proficiency in documentation using Revit.

Experience in Adobe Suite - Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator (not an essential but a bonus)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to proactively communicate with team members, consultants, and clients.

Strong organisational and time management skills.
