Sophia Mundi Steiner School is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) team as a French teacher. We are looking for a skilled educator with Steiner experience and a deep understanding of the IBDP curriculum, particularly in teaching French at the Higher level, and a commitment to fostering a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective French standard level and higher level lessons to IBDP students.

Create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that supports language acquisition and intercultural understanding.

Monitor and assess student progress using a variety of evidence-based practices.

Provide constructive feedback to support individual growth.

Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to enhance teaching practices and learning outcomes.

Uphold the values of Sophia Mundi and contribute to the holistic development of students.

About you:

You’ll be a committed, creative and resourceful teacher with a joy and enthusiasm for working with children, and the ability to relate to and inspire them. You will be highly skilled in the French language and have a deep understanding of French culture. You’ll have a strong understanding of Steiner Waldorf education and the ability to develop and deliver a French language program based on the principles and methods of the Steiner Waldorf curriculum. We have a team of experienced qualified Steiner teachers who can support you with this, as well as a supportive professional development program of peer mentoring and external training and development opportunities. Possess strong pedagogical knowledge and assessment expertise.

Enthusiastic about language and culture and brings creativity to the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Experience in IBDP Language B French SL and HL (including Internal Oral Assessment)

Teaching Year 7 to12 (using AIM and EPI approach)

Managing student exchange programme (pedagogy to administrative tasks including student visa 500)

Organising events for the secondary school (once a term)

Have good knowledge of effective Languages pedagogy in Steiner education.

Attend all Faculty Meetings and staff meetings.

Work closely with and support the work and educational teams (wellbeing etc).

Assist with the Faculty's contribution to all School Community events, such as newsletter article twice a month, Outdoor Programme (2 camps a year), Information Evenings as required.

Engage regularly in Professional Development

Complete all documentation as required, ensuring sound record keeping and management of resources.

Participate in the Annual Review system for teachers.

Participate in the School's Co-curricular Program.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
