The District Nurses (TDN) has been delivering in home community health care to Tasmanians for over 125 years maintaining a primary healthcare focus in all our services. The District Nurses is a not for profit, charitable organisation that is not affiliated with any residential age care service or religious organisation.

TDN is seeking Part Time Community Support Workers (CSW) to cover the suburbs of Moonah and surrounds, Sorell through to Orford, Opossum Bay through to Cambridge and the Southern Breaches region with experience and knowledge to support clients to live independently in their own homes in the community.

Community Support Worker Responsibilities:

Basic household cleaning

Assisting with meal, snack preparation and hydration based on nutritional requirements

Assisting with washing, bathing and/or showering

Assisting with dressing and grooming

Providing social support

Encouraging client independence

Enjoys working autonomously

Provides client centered care and support

Basic technology skills

Ability to perform in a physically demanding role

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

You will need:

Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing or Home & Community)

Medication endorsement preferred

A valid unrestricted driver licence as well as a registered and insured road worthy vehicle

National Police Check and Working with vulnerable people check

Current first aid certificate
