About the Role
As part of one of the most integral teams in a fast growing business, as an Operations Team member, you will be directly involved in carrying out the operations required to receive shipments, assemble products and dispatch orders. At any given point, you would be involved with either our Production, Receiving or Dispatch teams.
The key objective of this role is to ensure timeliness, efficiency and cost effectiveness are achieved.
Duties & Responsibilities
- In-house assembly and packaging activities according to company procedures.
- Compliance with processes and certifications.
- Conduct basic quality checks.
- Store goods appropriately and conduct periodic stock checks.
- Storing and packing of goods in accordance with procedures.
- Receiving of goods and unloading shipments according to company procedures.
- Check all deliveries received against the delivery docket upon receipt.
- Ensure details on invoices match correctly to the purchase order.
- Move stock to designated areas within a timely manner.
- Remove and dispose of excess packaging and waste materials.
- Manual strapping and packing.
- Restocking product bins.
- Safe use of box-cutters and other non-powered hand tools.
- Safely use appropriate lifting equipment to move materials from warehouses according to instructions.
- Picking and packing activities.
- Undertaking pallet and carton activities to resupply as required.
- Barcode labelling activities.
- Use of packaging materials and packing according to company procedures.
- Cooperating with daily courier activities.
- Assembly activities as required.
- Management of waste materials.
- Liaise with other departments to provide warehouse information as requested.
- Other ad-hoc warehouse duties.
Company based responsibilities:
- Maintain company work hours and comply with work starting and finishing times.
- Comply with safe work practices, with the intent of avoiding injury to themselves and others and damage to plant and equipment.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
- Comply with all safety activities and reporting requirements.
- Report all known or observed hazards to their manager or supervisor.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Ability to lift – 16kg capacity
- Stand for an extended period
- Mechanical aptitude
- Forklift truck license
- Strong quality and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Willingness to learn
- Strong quality focus and problem-solving capability
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and team environment
- Basic computer skills and experience, including Outlook, Excel, and NetSuite
- Ability to use lifting equipment and non-powered hand tools
Desirable
- Experience in a similar role
- EWP license
- Experience in the architectural hardware market
- Experience with NetSuite
