We are seeking applications from people that are either fully qualified as family dispute resolution practitioner, are currently studying Family Dispute Resolution or have an interest in completing the qualification.
To be eligible as a Family Dispute Resolution Trainee you must hold a degree in, Law, Psychology, Social Work or Social Science. Centacare will support the right person to complete the FDR qualification.
This is a Full-Time contract position, to commence in the new year, until 30 June 2026, based in Port Augusta.
About the Position
As a family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you will provide a range of high quality, child-focused interventions to families post separation who are experiencing various levels of conflict and need support recaching agreements in relation to their children and/or the distribution of property.
The role includes intake, assessment, case management and the provision of indentations including mediation and child inclusive practice under the jurisdiction of the Family Law Act, as well as advocacy and referral services.
Key Duties include:
Provide family dispute resolution and general mediation services
Conduct intake assessments, develop case plans and parenting agreements
Facilitate effective referral and promotion of services
Participate in program and service evaluations

Annual Salary from $85,126 to $91,587 (based on full time hours of 38 hours per week))

About You
As a qualified mediator, you will have:
Relevant qualifications in Law, Psychology, Social Work or Social Sciences
A Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution
An accreditation with the Attorney General’s Department
As a trainee mediator, you will have:
A Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or Law (this is a prerequisite of the traineeship)
A willingness to undertake the Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution in the first year of employment to achieve registration with the Attorney-General’s Department. Training terms and an agreement will be made with the suitable candidate.
Requirements of the role:
Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check – don't worry, we can support this process if necessary!
Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check)
Hold a current South Australian Driver’s License (minimum Provisional Licence)
