About the role
The role is responsible for coordination of Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan which requires working with various Business Units across Council. The role will also require maintaining inclusive and mutually beneficial relationships with the local Aboriginal community.
Provide support, through the development of partnerships and collaborative projects designed to address the needs of Aboriginal people in the Bayside LGA.
Key Accountabilities
Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
Coordination of Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan, including reporting on achievements and progress.
Work with the RAP working group to plan and deliver on Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, and other significant events.
Work with the RAP working party to progress delivery of the RAP.
Work with Aboriginal organisations and groups to provide service delivery advice and coordination support, to ensure services are provided to members of this community.
Undertake activities to assist community organisations to collaborate and participate in consultation processes that contribute to social policy, planning, delivery, and evaluation of community programs.
Promote the positive and collaborative culture and values of the organisation through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
Work in collaboration with the Community Support and Programs team, Coordinator, Manager and other internal stakeholders to achieve the business unit goals, work requests, and Council priorities.
About you
Tertiary or other qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Aboriginality (people of Aboriginal descent as per Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
Current Driver’s Licence Class C

Salary Range: from $95, 477.88 - $106, 935.17 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation
