Automation Engineer required to drive transformation change, automate processes and streamline systems for a leading engineering business.
You'll play a key role in designing and developing intelligent automation solutions that remove repetitive tasks and deliver real impact. What you’ll do

• Design and develop RPA bots and AI-powered automation solutions across the business using UiPath and OpenAI tools.
• Work closely with stakeholders to map processes, identify inefficiencies, and build fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Manage end-to-end automation lifecycle—from requirements gathering and design to configuration, testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with IT and transformation teams to ensure seamless integration with existing platforms and databases.
• Support the performance optimisation of business applications and processes.
• Document solution architectures, process flows, user manuals, and technical guides.
• Contribute to leadership team discussions, support team development, and drive a high-performance, values-led culture.

What you bring

• Extensive programming background working with C#, Python, and React (or similar frameworks).
• Hands-on experience with UiPath RPA and a strong grasp of AI/ML concepts, especially working with OpenAI APIs.
• Solid scripting skills and a deep understanding of database technologies (SQL + NoSQL).
• Proven experience with Azure services like CosmosDB, Container Apps, and AI Search.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and experience in Agile development environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience working on large, complex projects with change management components.
• Knowledge of ECM systems and system landscape design.
• Familiarity with middleware and third-party software integrations.
