The Alice Springs Steiner School invites applications from dedicated and imaginative educators for the position of Class Teacher, commencing Term 3, 2025. We welcome qualified teachers from a variety of educational backgrounds, including those with an interest in Steiner pedagogy who are open to receiving training while teaching.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for Class 3, guiding students through the academic year with a holistic, integrated approach to education that supports intellectual, emotional, and practical development. This role involves:

Delivering engaging, interdisciplinary lessons aligned with the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework (ASCF).

Leading Main Lesson blocks and teaching subject areas not provided by specialist teachers (e.g., painting, handcrafts, form drawing, recorder).

Creating and maintaining a nurturing, aesthetically rich classroom environment.

Collaborating closely with colleagues, support staff, families, and the broader school community.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking an educator who:

Holds current teacher registration (or is eligible for registration) in the Northern Territory.

Is committed to child-centred, holistic education and is eager to engage with Steiner pedagogy, whether they have prior experience in Steiner school settings.

Brings warmth, creativity, and adaptability to their teaching practice.

Possesses (or is willing to obtain) a current Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), Police Check, and First Aid Certificate.

Note: Professional development and mentoring in Steiner education will be provided for teachers new to this approach.
