Onpoint is a locally owned small business based in the Northern Territory providing accommodation and facility services for mining and energy operations and their workforces.

We have a wonderful opportunity for an experienced breakfast chef to join our team in our small village located in Katherine NT. located approximately 330 kms South of Darwin.

DIDO Local position with food and accommodation provided and bus travel provided if travelling from Darwin. Ideally the successful candidate will be available to commence immediately.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to the following:

• Providing breakfast / crib lunch service for approximately 120 residents with a focus on “healthy meal choices” and a shift away from the standard FIFO food selection
• Be able to prepare fresh bakery options such as savoury and sweet muffins, daily fresh bread selection, cookies, slices and cakes
• Have a keen eye for detail with a focus on food presentation and garnishing
• Maintain minimal food wastage
• Maintain a high standard of cleaning processes

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

• Minimum 1 year work experience on a remote mine-site village
• Bulk catering experience
• Good time management and communication skills
• Understanding of Food Safety principals and the HACCP methodology
• Cookery qualifications - minimum (or equivalent) Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Australian Driver’s Licence
• Full Australian work right
