About the Opportunity
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of our fleet and equipment. You will work in a safe and modern workshop with great facilities. Your role will support the Workshop Supervisor and contribute to the smooth functioning of our fleet services through hands-on maintenance and proactive service delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maximising the availability of vehicles and equipment through efficient, on-time, and cost-effective maintenance and repair.
Performing mechanical maintenance on a wide range of fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and plant machinery, including diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems.
Delivering courteous and efficient service to internal and external customers, using initiative to respond to requests and resolve issues.
What are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, you'll bring a combination of experience, qualifications and a commitment to safety. You’ll have substantial experience in maintaining heavy plant and equipment—including trucks, compactors and tractors and you have a thorough understanding of Occupational Safety and Health standards. With strong communication, organisational and time management skills, you work well both independently and as part of a team.
Essential requirements:
Mechanical Trade Certificate.
Current 'HR' Class Driver’s Licence.
Proficiency in maintaining light plant equipment.
Experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
