Indigenous Hospitality Officer | Pinangba Services | Townsville

  • Employment Term: Casual
  • Location: Shalom Elders Village, Townsville
  • Remuneration: $36.25 (Inclusive of Casual Loading) + 11.5% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging
  • Rosters: 7am - 2pm, 8am - 4pm, and 3.30pm - 7.30pm

We are seeking individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander who are interested in pursuing a career as a Hospitality Officer. To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.

The Pinangba service of Shalom Elders Village is based in a quiet Townsville suburb. We provide premium care in a culturally appropriate setting and pride ourselves on our genuine commitment to making residents feel part of an extended and welcoming community in an open and inviting setting. We have an opportunity available for an energetic, passionate and highly capable Hospitality Officer to join the team at Shalom Elders Village. .

As an Hospitality Officer a key support role to the delivery of our services, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring business operations are run efficiently and our clients and residents receive an exceptional experience.

You will:

  • Supporting senior hospitality staff members with daily operations which may include housekeeping and laundry services
  • Preparing, cooking and delivering food in adherence with Australian food safety standards and dietary Requirements of our residents
  • Being required to uphold impeccable hygiene standards.
  • Prior hospitality experience in kitchen or cleaning
  • Enthusiasm and strong self-motivation
  • Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
