- long term homes and short term respite, for supported independent living and respite (STA)
- skill-building through support coordination, group programs and individualised support in the community
- specialist allied health services such as positive behaviour support, physio, occupational therapy, speech pathology and psychology
Your role at St John of God Accord
We are currently seeking applications from enthusiastic and motivated Community Support Workers to join our Community Campuses to provide the highest level of support to those who attend Accord's Community Engagement Services (ACES) within our Northern and Western locations in Greensborough, Glenroy and Sydenham.
Working in a Community Campus is ideal if you are looking from regular shifts during the work week between 8.30 and 4.30.
Positions will be offered on a Casual basis with potential for permanency for the right candidate/s, with a variety of hours being offered throughout the week.
The Position
- Participate in a range of appropriate programs and activities (recreational, pre-vocational, education and social) at our on site venues and in the community aimed at increasing the individual's skills, and participation in the community
- Provide the highest level of support for all individuals supported and ensure each person supported is treated with respect that enhances their personal worth, dignity and rights, at all times
- Assist in achieving individual's, team and service goals and objectives.
- Seek ways of improving the standards of service by working closely with colleagues, relevant line managers and contributing to meetings
- Maintain a high level of service for all individual's and ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of all people supported and staff is maintained at all times
- Support the identified needs of individuals in relation to their particular life circumstances
You will have experience liaising with families and circles of support, service providers and community groups, sound written & communication skills, able to multi-task and work under pressure and capable of working independently with an individual or group of people.
Successful applicants will have fundamental computer skills, a valid Australian Drivers Licence and Working with Children check. Experience in the disability sector and/or possession of a relevant qualification will be highly regarded.

We can offer:
- Salary: $25.41 to $46.35 per hour plus 11.5% Superannuation
- Casual positions available
