St Dominic's College is a private Catholic Boys' Secondary School, committed to creating a caring environment where educational excellence is evident within the Catholic Tradition and the Spirit of Edmund Rice. We are looking for a TAS/VET Construction Teacher to commence as soon as possible.
St Dominic’s College, Kingswood is a Catholic school in the Blessed Edmund Rice tradition conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia. Founded by the Christian Brothers in 1959, the College has a current enrolment of just over 1000 boys, Years 7 – 12. The mission of St Dominic's College is to create a caring environment where excellence in Education is evident within the Catholic tradition and the Spirit of Edmund Rice.
The College is seeking an innovative TAS and VET Construction Teacher. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high quality TAS education to students across Stages 4 to 6 and VET Construction across Stage 6.
Key responsibilities include:
Plan and deliver engaging TAS and VET Construction lessons tailored to a range of student abilities and interests.
Deliver and assess VET Construction competencies in line with ASQA and RTO requirements and NESA course content requirements.
Monitor student achievement and provide timely and constructive feedback.
Work collaboratively within the TAS and VET faculties to develop integrated and innovative learning experiences.
Participate in school-based pastoral care and co-curricular programs.
Commit to ongoing professional learning and reflective practices.
Essential Criteria:
A working understanding and strong commitment to Catholic values, morals, and faith in the Edmund Rice tradition.
Relevant teaching qualifications.
Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) or eligibility to obtain it.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to child safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Highly Desirable Criteria:
Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment for assessing VET Construction.
Experience teaching Stage 5 Industrial Technology Metal and VET Construction.
Familiarity with WHS requirements and compliance in school workshop settings.
An understanding of the unique learning needs of young men.
Willingness to participate in College co-curricular activities.

Teachers at St Dominic’s College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023 and may attract higher levels of renumeration.
The salary will be reflective of NESA accreditation level and teaching experience, with an estimated annual salary between $91 974 - $132 117
