Able Fabrication and Engineering is a progressive business focusing on continuous learning and improving people and processes. Established over 30 years ago, we service all levels of steel fabrication and welding, creating solutions and carrying out the necessary engineering to develop certified products for the mining, General manufacturing, and engineering industries. Our team consists of 15 people, including certified mechanical engineers, certified welding inspectors, certified welding supervisors, Qualified welders and boilermakers, Machinists, and trades assistants.

Qualifications & experience

• Boilermaker trade qualified, Certificate 3 in Engineering/Fabrication ( or minimum of four year’s experience in the trade)
• AS 1796 8G Ticket (or ability to pass a GMAW 2G AS/NZS 9606.1 Welder Qualification)
• Experience operating an overhead crane (an advantage but not essential)
• Forklift ticket (an advantage but not essential)
• Driver’s license

Tasks & responsibilities

• Fabricate & weld components using GMAW (Mig) that comply with the client’s specification, drawings & Australian Standards.
• Proactive, with a strong work ethic with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team environment & unsupervised.
• Adhere to safe work practices.
• Participate in Toolbox and Safety meetings.
• Completion of sign off documentation as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
