About Us
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Service that provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
The Travel Officer is responsible for providing comprehensive and effective travel coordination services to employees and managers, as well as comprehensive support to the Finance Department and Business Services Unit. This role is required to set priorities, meet strict deadlines, work in a high workload/changing environment, provide advice and work with complex travel requirements, and contribute to implementation of work processes and routines. This position is a full time and fixed term ending 16 February 2026.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential requirements:
Previous demonstrated experience and a high level of accuracy in processing travel requests and travel coordination, or similar skill set.
Demonstrated advanced experience in the use of Microsoft software applications.
Proven time management, coordination and organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Includes the ability to support varied projects within the team at the same time.
Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with the customer base including community.
Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York.
Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control.
Proven ability to prioritise tasks, use initiative and good judgement, as well as being able to cope with competing demands.
Must be willing and have the ability to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD as required.
Mandatory requirements:
Current Queensland Drivers Licence
Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
Current AFP National Police Clearance or willing to obtain

Competitive salary range - $74,440 – $82,711 p.a. + 11.5% superannuation contribution
