Salary: VPS 5 - $113,022 to $136,747 + 11.5% superannuation
Location: 664 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3000

About the role:
The Senior Analyst, Data Governance supports the development and implementation of data governance policies, frameworks, and practices at the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria.
This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Risk, Operations, and Science, to ensure EPA's data management aligns with regulatory standards and strategic priorities.
In this role you will:
- Support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of comprehensive governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Create, manage, and update documentation for governance policies, standards, and processes to ensure clarity and accessibility.
- Monitor and address data quality issues and risks across the organization to maintain data integrity and reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including data owners and stewards, to define roles, responsibilities, and ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Provide training and guidance on governance tools and best practices, fostering a culture of data literacy and informed decision-making.
Skills and experience:
- A tertiary degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Information Management.
- Experience with privacy & data governance frameworks and methodologies (CIPP, CIPM/DAMA/DCAM).
- Experience with data quality monitoring and risk management.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and environmental data.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
