Key Responsibilities
As an Early Childhood Teacher at Queanbeyan Childcare Centre, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive. Your responsibilities will include:
Foster a safe, secure, and stimulating environment that supports learning through play
Build and maintain respectful and genuine relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Design and implement age-appropriate educational programs for children aged 0–5 years
Demonstrate understanding of the planning cycle, observation techniques, and linking learning outcomes
Uphold service policies to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment
Motivate and lead colleagues collaboratively, promoting a positive team culture
Engage in reflective practice and strive for continuous improvement
Participate in ongoing professional development, especially in child protection and safety
Maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood (or working towards an ACECQA-approved equivalent)
Minimum of 6 months experience working in an early childhood education and care (required)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to document children’s learning and maintain accurate records
Experience in applying the EYLF and NQS in practice
Demonstrated leadership and initiative
Ability to work a fortnightly rotating roster
Familiarity with KinderM8 is an advantage

Pre-Employment Checks
Offers of employment will be subject to the following pre-employment checks:
· Two recent work-based references
· Valid NSW Working with Children Check
· Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma certifications
· Current Safe Sleep Training
· National Police Check
· Working Rights Check
