Software Engineer

Purpose

Due to increasing demand for software development services and applications from our key clients, we are seeking to engage a Software Engineer.

The role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of numerous software products managed by Systemic. This includes Systemic’s own product lines and those of enterprise clients.

You will initially be based at Systemic’s premises in the CBD of Perth. You will have the opportunity to work directly with Systemic’s clients, which may include being onsite in one of our client's offices in East Perth.

Responsibilities

The Systemic Software Engineer role has the following general responsibilities:

Product Development:

· Analysis of product enhancement requirements;

· Development of new product features;

· Product testing;

· Liaison with customers and product managers;

· Compliance with application framework development approaches; and

· Compliance with development practices and processes.

DevOps:

· Enhancement of product deployment pipelines; and

· Setup of new infrastructure and services as required.

Product Support:

· Analysis of support requests;

· Interaction with customers, both face-to-face and online; and

· Implementation of bug fixes and product releases.

Skills

Software Development

· Experience in web application development;

· Experience in mobile application development is also desirable;

· Familiarity with contemporary software development practices;

· Ability to work independently, and as part of a small project team; and

· Ability to interact with and understand a diverse range of customers.

Product Support

· Strong interpersonal skills; and

· Analytical approach to problem solving.

Experience and Qualifications

The role is targeted for early career software engineers with at least two years’ experience in industry. Greater experience will be favourably considered.

The successful candidate is required to have completed an undergraduate degree (at least) in software engineering or similar.

General

Applicants are required to undertake a criminal history check, in accordance with Systemic client requirements.

Applicants may be required to undertake a Defence security clearance, in which case Australian Citizenship will be required.
