The Position

Manjimup Home and Community Care is currently seeking applications from a highly motivated and suitably qualified individual to lead and manage our friendly Home and Community Care team to support individuals in maintaining their independence in a community setting.

The Manager Home and Community Care is responsible for the Management and Leadership of our Home and Community Care and NDIS team to provide Aged Care, Community Respite and NDIS services, to clients in the Shire of Manjimup area and surrounds. This role includes:

Management and Leadership of the Shire of Manjimup Aged Care, Community Respite and NDIS team and services.

Planning, developing, and delivery of CHSP, HCP, and NDIS services to eligible aged and disabled clients, and their carers in the Shire and surrounding areas to a high standard and cost-effectiveness that aligns with laws, standards, and organisational values.

Coordinating the implementing strategic direction to prepare for growth in demand and promote continuous improvement and innovation of service.

Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role you will need:

Proven Leadership Skills

Experience managing a multidisciplinary team

Sound financial management including operating budgets and grants.

Experience in Facility Management

Current working knowledge of the incoming changes to the Aged Care services sector.

Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.

National Police Clearance and NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain).

5+ years relevant experience in health or social support sector, including direct service delivery, public relations, and supporting multidisciplinary teams (desirable).

Experience with Client Management Systems (desirable).

Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in Health or related field, or extensive experience in aged care and disability services (desirable).

The Shire’s district was first included as a part of the Plantagenet Wellington and Sussex Road Districts in 1871 and later in the Nelson Road Board District. The Warren Road District was formed on 3 July 1908 and changed to the Manjimup Road District in June 1925. With the enactment of the Local Government Act 1960, the Manjimup Road District name was changed to Shire of Manjimup on 1 July 1961. The Shire celebrated its Centenary in 2008 having provided over 100 years of service to the district.

​The Shire of Manjimup is proud of its natural and cultural heritage and works with the community to protect, enhance and interpret this. The Shire's Planning and Environment Department is responsible for the protection of cultural heritage through the provisions of the Local Planning Scheme. It also is responsible for the operation of the Municipal Heritage Inventory for the Shire. The Community Services Directorate supports the development of heritage interpretation in response to community and tourism needs and according to the Shire of Manjimup Heritage Connections Project Implementation Plan.

There are a number of historical societies in the Shire of Manjimup. They collect, record, classify and preserve historic records and engage with the local community and visitors in interpretation of the area’s history.
