About the role

Altona Early Education Centre Pty Ltd is seeking a talented and experienced Centre Chef to join our team in Altona, VIC 3018. As a full-time Centre Chef, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and delicious meals for the children across our 2 centres, ensuring they receive the proper nutrition to support their growth and development.

What you'll be doing

Plan, prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the children in our care across our 2 Centres

Ensure all meals meet nutritional guidelines and cater to any dietary requirements

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards

Inventory and order kitchen supplies as needed

Collaborate with the education team to incorporate learning opportunities around food and nutrition

Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the childcare centre

What we're looking for

Formal qualifications in commercial cookery or catering

Proven experience as a chef or cook in a childcare, school or similar setting

Knowledge of nutrition, food safety and special dietary requirements

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Working with Children Check and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
