Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Physiotherapy Clinicians to join the Allied Health Education and Physiotherapy teams in the role(s) of Allied Health Clinical Educator - Physiotherapy (Neurology).

About Northern Health:

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Allied Health Clinical Educator(s) - Physiotherapy (Neurology) will have a lead role in co-designing, delivering and evaluating clinically based education and training for learners across the career continuum. This will involve developing and implementing responsive, evidence-based discipline specific and interdisciplinary clinical skills training via a range of delivery modalities within a consistent framework across Allied Health (AH).

This role(s) will work closely with the Allied Health Professional Education Lead, wider education team and allied health disciplines to co-design, implement and evaluate this framework to ensure effective and sustainable training is delivered encompassing a range of training modalities.

This role(s) will be involved in building capability across the wider AH workforce in supervision and teaching skills. The Allied Health Clinical Educator(s) will also be champions for interdisciplinary education and will be actively involved in ensuring learners have access to interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

The Allied Health Clinical Educator(s) - Physiotherapy (Neurology) will work closely with the Allied Health Education team, broader AH leadership and workforce to ensure that programs are delivered in a cohesive, consistent and efficient manner and that the education and training provided meets the needs of NH learners across the career continuum.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy (essential) and post graduate qualifications in education, management or relevant health discipline (desirable)
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Physiotherapist
  • Current Victorian Driver's License.
  • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check.
  • Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association and relevant special interest groups
  • Extensive experience in the management and education of Physiotherapy learners.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills and experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (Grade 3 level desirable)
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication, project management and coordination skills, and a proven commitment to working collaboratively to promote evidence-based education to learners.
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of the application of adult learning principles in the design of education programs.
  • Demonstrable experience in facilitating, evaluating and continuously improving education programs.
  • A passion for providing high-quality supervision and clinical skills training to a variety of learners.
  • A foundational understanding of interdisciplinary education principles, design and delivery.
