Job Title: Bricklaying and Masonry Project Manager
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bricklaying and Masonry Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of masonry construction projects. This role involves coordinating teams, managing budgets, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards to deliver projects on time and within scope. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction project management, with excellent leadership skills and good attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
Team Leadership: Lead and supervise teams, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. Provide guidance and support to team members.
Quality Control: Monitor work progress and quality, conducting regular site inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and building codes. Implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain quality standards.
Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of materials and labour. Procure necessary materials and equipment, maintaining inventory and ensuring timely delivery to the site.
Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site. Conduct regular safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Problem Solving: Identify potential challenges or delays and implement proactive solutions to keep the project on track.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily logs, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and submit reports to senior management as required.
Experience:
Must have extensive experience in commercial bricklaying and in a project management role.
Skills:
Proficiency in project management software
Good understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations
Strong knowledge of bricklaying techniques
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Good problem-solving and decision making ability
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure
Understanding and interpreting construction plans - including estimations
Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management or construction safety are advantageous but not essential.
