About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our client in Altona North, VIC. This is a full-time position that will provide you the opportunity to take the next step in your accounting career. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver high-quality taxation, financial services and business advisory support to our diverse client base.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports

Assist with the month-end and year-end accounting close processes

Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making

Liaise with clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions

Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations

Support the implementation of new accounting systems and processes

Mentor and train junior members of the accounting team

What we're looking for

2-5 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role, ideally within a professional services or business advisory firm

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Strong technical accounting skills, with a deep understanding of financial statements and reporting

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to provide strategic financial advice

Proficient in the use of accounting software, such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships

Proven experience in mentoring and developing junior team members
