An Australian family-owned manufacturing company (circa 50+ years established) are looking for a group management accountant to assist with managing the day-to-day accounting and financial systems of the business in their Bibra Lake location.

Reporting to the CFO based in the eastern states, the core purpose of the role includes:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial systems
• Working with your small but capable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial information
• Develop financial and management reports to enable appropriate analysis of business performance
• Assist in the preparation of information to enable timely preparation of yearly financial and taxation reports
• Provide guidance concerning cashflow commitments
• Provide and implement financial improvements
• Provide support to CFO on projects as directed

Day-to-day matters will span:

• Manage ERP Systems in conjunction with Service Providers, and internal resources
• Prepare monthly financial/management reporting including commentary within required time frame
• Prepare monthly consolidated accounts
• General ledger reconciliations and recommendations
• Input into ERP systems and review of costings
• Reconciliation of inventory accounts and accurate reporting for valuation
• Participate as needed with costing of product
• Analysing departmental expenses
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets and forecasts including variance analysis
• Cash flow management
• Perform in depth financial modelling for presentation to management for decision making
• Statutory compliance - GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, Work Cover, etc.
• Year-end statutory accounting including taxation return and liaison with external accountants
• Liaison with internal stakeholders to ensure validity of financial data
• Review processes and internal controls to ensure safety of accounts
• Meet external requirements - ASIC etc.
• Management of commercial risk - insurances etc.
• Provide leadership and direction for the Accounting / Finance of the business in support of CFO

About you:

The client will ideally engage an experienced Group/Management Accountant, with demonstrated experience in the equipment manufacturing industry.

• Current member- CPA or CA
• SAGE ERP experience
• Demonstrated experience managing end to end accounting functions
• Strong reconciliation skills
• Ability to implement policies and procedures to support data validity
• Ensure strong transparency and audit trail of all works
• Experience in analysis and interpretation of data
• Full Australian Working Rights

The client is significantly motivated to engage the right person and will negotiate a salary based on experience and capabilities, circa $120,000 + superannuation.
