About Experience Music
Experience Music is an instrumental music tutoring service working mainly within Catholic primary education across the North-Western suburbs of Melbourne. It provides instrumental tuition to students from grade prep to 6 in guitar, piano, voice, violin, drums and bass within school premises and operating hours.
We provide safe, fun, and engaging spaces for children to explore their musical creativity and potential. Our vision is that each student is already a musician in the making.

About the role
We are specifically seeking a:
Keyboard/Piano, Guitar & Drum tutor
Keyboard/Piano, Guitar & Vocal tutor
Keyboard/Piano & Vocal tutor
Or ideally, tutors who can teach at least 2 of these instruments. Priority will be given to multi-instrumentalist candidates. You must be willing to travel up to 20kms to your designated school in suburbs such as Craigieburn, Fawkner, Sunshine, Brunswick East, Essendon, Coburg, Reservoir and Hadfield.
As an instrumental tutor, you will provide instrumental music tuition within Victoria's Catholic primary school sector, per students' chosen instrument (guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, violin and vocals) and lesson modes (shared 2-on-1 or group 3-on-1), aiding the musical development of students aged 5-12. The role will include preparing students for yearly recitals and other performance opportunities within the school calendar. Supported by our management team, you will work on a dynamic schedule of students weekly and throughout the school term and year.
You will also receive support in carrying out our tuition framework to achieve clear learning objectives. Your day will include the following tasks:
Setting up and packing spaces for learning
Ensuring students get to their lessons on time throughout the school day
Tutoring from a lesson framework provided by us
Writing feedback for students using a digital spreadsheet provided
Taking attendance and reporting to the management team at the end of the tuition day
Preparing for, and attending students' yearly recitals - generally in term 3
Liaising with syllabus support staff regarding any tuition concerns, where necessary

Skills and Mandatory Requirements:
Completion of Mandatory Reporting Module (obtainable online)
First Aid Level 2 Training
Anaphylactic First Aid Training
National Police Check
Valid Working with Children's Check
A driver's License and your vehicle are a must
Qualifications and Professional Experience:
Ability to engage genuinely and patiently with children in a tutoring capacity – any previous experience in this field will be highly advantageous. This means an ability to make children feel safe, welcomed and excited about learning!
Certificate 4 in Music or equivalent as a minimum standard
AMEB Certifications are an advantage, but not essential
Be well presented, well-groomed and be willing to adhere to a professional dress code
Proven experience in a similar role
Proficiency with computers/mobile devices
Experience with handling basic sound and music equipment
Punctuality and excellent time management skills
Attention to detail and high organisational skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive with issues that may arise
Ability to use sound judgement and respect when dealing with students, parents, and school teaching staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
An ability to prioritise, multitask, and problem solve
Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment without supervision
Willingness to learn
