Mater Health Hub, Springfield is looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics to join the team. This is a maximum-term (12 months), part-time (15.2 hours per week) role base at the Mater Health Hub, Springfield.
The Senior Occupational Therapist (Paediatrics) at Mater Health Hub Springfield will provide high level occupational therapy services to patients in a private outpatient setting. This position is required to independently assess and treat patients with minimal direct clinical supervision and grow the outpatient occupational therapy services at Mater Health Hub Springfield.
Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 (HP4) per hour plus 11.5% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You will deliver high level evidence-based occupational therapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in a private paediatric outpatient setting, with minimal direct clinical practice supervision. Interventions could be individual or group-based.
- Work cooperatively and communicate effectively within the health care team, with clients, parents and other stakeholders including referring doctors (for example general practitioners).
- Formulate clinical reports including correspondence back to referring practitioners.
- Work to develop and grow the paediatric occupational therapy service, with various service development activities, aligned with overarching strategy of Mater Health Hub Springfield and in consultation with the Manager, Mater Health Hub Springfield.
- Potential to provide clinical supervision and support to less experienced occupational therapy staff as the service grows.
About you
You will have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA. You will also meet the below criteria:
- Extensive experience in provision of occupational therapy services to a paediatric caseload across a range of ages and conditions, ideally within a private practice or outpatient setting.
- Proven ability to assess and treat a range of clinical presentations, confidently and with minimal direct clinical supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in growing a clinical service in line with departmental plan/strategy.
- Advanced communication skills including experience in fostering engagement with patients, family and other stakeholders.
- Postgraduate qualifications in clinical leadership or similar (desirable)
