The Opportunity
As a Senior Psychologist you will be responsible for:
- Implementing a systemic approach and provides clinical leadership in the identification and support of the safety, social, emotional, and educational needs of children during their admission and their transition back into the community,
- Coordinating and/or providing short-term psychological intervention to children who are admitted to Secure Care in the context of experiences of complex trauma and disrupted attachment histories,
- Undertaking trauma informed therapeutic planning to guide risk management and the provision of therapeutic care for children,
- Liasing with key stakeholders to plan for children’s safety, social, emotional, and psychological needs to be met during their transition back into the community,
- Supporting Secure Care staff to build and maintain their capacity to provide a high level of therapeutic care to children and consistently respond in a trauma informed way.

For Specified Calling Senior Psychologist Roles:
A master’s degree in clinical or counselling or forensic psychology, full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia as a Psychologist with specialist area endorsement is an essential requirement of this role.
