About the role

Fusion Australia, a leading community services organisation, is seeking a passionate and empathetic Recovery Support Worker (with or without Nighttime availability) to join our team in Geraldton, WA. In this casual role, you will play a crucial part in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery and independence.

What you'll be doing

Providing one-on-one support and guidance to clients, helping them to develop coping strategies and achieve their personal goals.

Assisting clients with daily living activities, such as budgeting, meal preparation, and accessing community resources.

Facilitating group activities and workshops that promote social inclusion, wellbeing, and skill development.

Collaborating with other professionals to ensure the right help is being provided.

Maintaining detailed client records and contributing to the evaluation and improvement of our programs.

What we're looking for

A strong understanding of the principles of community development and recovery-oriented practice.

Experience in the community services or mental health sector, with a demonstrated ability to provide person-centered support.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse clients.

A compassionate and non-judgmental approach, combined with the resilience to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field (desirable).

Essential Criteria

Current WWC Card

Current Driver’s license

Desirable Criteria

Cert IV Mental Health or equivalent experience or Cert IV Community Services or equivalent experience or willingness to work towards this.

Practical Skills – Have good cleaning and general domestic skills.

Interpersonal Skills – Have good communication skills both verbal and in writing, ability to work with challenging clients, and able to work both in a team and independently.

Time management – Have good organisational skills with ability to start and finish tasks in a timely manner, and be able to plan and initiate tasks as needed.

Miscellaneous – Have relevant knowledge of mental health and the mental health sector. Have an understanding of Mental Health Recovery and ability to support individuals on their recovery journey while promoting autonomy, choice and independence.
