About the opportunity
There is currently one (1) permanent position Director Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing available for immediate filling.
The role of Director Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing is responsible for delivering high–level strategic advice on matters related to work health, safety and wellbeing. This role involves offering strategic direction, leadership, and mentoring to a multi-disciplinary team in identifying, assessing, and investigating occupational safety and health risks, managing both compensable and non-compensable injuries, and overseeing programs aimed at improving safety, health, and overall wellbeing in the workplace.
This role fosters a high-performance, outcomes-driven safety culture by building and maintaining effective working relationships within the branch, across the directorate, with the executive and senior leadership teams, as well as with both internal and external stakeholders.
We are looking for individuals with:
Significant experience in leading, influencing and driving a strategy that empowers managers to engage in a positive way, to facilitate cultural change in a large, complex, multidisciplinary organisation.
Excellent strategic thinking and relationship building skills to maintain highly productive working relationships within the branch, across the directorate, executive, senior leadership team and with other internal and external stakeholders.
Experience leading a WHS function, including implementation of programs and policies to ensure legislative compliance and the development of a safety culture (desirable).
