About our Senior Occupational Therapist role in Neurosciences:

Are you ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and fast-paced acute environment? As a Senior Occupational Therapist in our Neurosciences team, you'll provide rapid, specialised assessments and interventions, playing a crucial role in patients' critical acute recovery phase.

Why Join Us?

At Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH), our Occupational Therapy neurosciences team works across 7 days a week service, with Neurology and Neurosurgery caseloads, including the SCGH Stroke Unit, recognised internationally for its excellence in stroke treatment and care. With approximately 1,100 strokes treated annually, SCGH is the main comprehensive stroke centre and after-hours endovascular clot retrieval service in Western Australia. We are also proud to be the primary centre for the State Neurosurgery Service in Western Australia, handling the majority of neurosurgical referrals for both inpatient and outpatient care. Our specialised units, such as the Neurological Intervention and Imaging Service of WA, are dedicated to treating vascular diseases of the brain, head, neck, and spine, ensuring comprehensive and cutting-edge care for our patients

What You'll Do:

  • Provide Specialised Assessments: Conduct neurophysical and key Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, focusing on falls, pressure and seating, cognition, and function.
  • Strive for Excellence: Advance your practice in neurosciences, aiming for clinical excellence.
  • Lead and Support: Supervise junior Occupational Therapists and assist the Occupational Therapy Coordinator in delivering exceptional neurosciences services.

Why You'll Love This Role:

  • Fast-Paced Environment: Thrive in a high-energy setting where decisiveness, adaptability, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Continuous Learning: Engage in diverse clinical and educational experiences, attend conferences, present your ideas, and teach others.
  • Professional Growth: Each day offers new challenges and opportunities for growth, making every step a forward move in your career.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a dedicated team of professionals, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone's input is valued. You'll be part of a supportive network that encourages teamwork and shared success.

At NMHS, we believe your values and attitude speak louder than your qualifications. We embody Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork, and Integrity in everything we do.

If you're passionate about helping patients regain their independence and eager to work in a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in patient care and innovative treatment approaches, we want to hear from you!

Join us and be part of a team that makes a difference every day!
