About the role

IDEA Innovative Disability Engagement Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Female Disability Support Worker to provide complex care support on a casual basis to clients in the Hamlyn Terrace and Point Frederick area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

Assist clients with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

Provide individualised support to clients with complex care needs, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing

Facilitate community access and participation, accompany clients to appointments and social activities

Implement client-centred behaviour support plans and assist with the management of challenging behaviours

Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of client-centred support plans

Collaborate with the broader care team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client support

What we're looking for

Minimum 1 year of experience providing disability support, with a focus on complex care

Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification

Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

Demonstrated experience in implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision

Current First Aid and CPR certification, and a valid driver's licence with Comprehensive insurance.
