Contract Officer

Location: Parramatta

Employment type: Ongoing Full Time

Salary: $97,027 to $107,059 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Contract Officer to join the Commercial Management team in Parramatta. Working as part of the Capital Planning and Investment directorate you will assist with the implementation of specialist infrastructure procurement from the planning through to the manage phases for Infrastructure and Assets to ensure effective procurement practice that adheres to organisational and government policy.

What you'll do

As part of the Commercial Management team, you will be resilient, adaptable, committed to teamwork and comfortable working in an environment of change. You will:

  • Maintain contract management plans by sourcing supporting documents for established and new contracts, as well as preparing performance reporting and identifying non-performance, to ensure currency of all contract documentation.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with approved Contract Management Plans and all associated and supporting documentation in accordance with NSW Government and DCJ Records Management requirements.
  • Establish and maintain procurement and supplier registers, pipeline, and all Commercial Management reporting obligations.
  • Proactively identify contract risks and issues to support DCJ objectives and achieve the planned outcomes of the contracts.
  • Support the administrative activities during the procurement phase including supplier selection, tender, and contract award.

You'll work as part of the Capital Planning & Investment team delivering our services with a collaborative approach, enabling faster responses, more seamless operations, less duplication of effort and better outcomes.

What we're looking for

  • Do you take responsibility for procurement and contract management activities and decisions by applying guidelines and procedures?
  • Do you clearly explain complex concepts to a variety of stakeholders?
  • Do you have knowledge of the NSW Procurement Framework, construction category management, governance, or procurement policies?
  • Do you have demonstrated application of policy, organisational guidelines and procedures in relation to procurement and contract management?
  • Do you have relevant work experience in contract management or procurement, or a related area?
  • Do you identify ways to improve systems or processes which are used by the team/unit?
  • Do you demonstrate honest, ethical and professional behaviour?
