As a Program Delivery Officer (Level 2), you will be part of a culturally diverse, multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic practitioners who deliver a range of rehabilitation programs within the custodial environment. The ideal applicant will have a strong background in working with persons who have been in contact with the criminal justice system, possesses the attributes to elicit behavioural changes through offending programs, and an ability to work alongside other specialist units to reduce the rate of sexual violence within Queensland.
Lotus Glen is located 25km south of Mareeba and 25km north of Atherton. The centre provides a correctional service for high and low security prisoners, including a prison farm, and provides a remand and reception function for the region from Innisfail to the north of Queensland.
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
- The possession of a tertiary qualification in preferably in psychology, social work, education or behavioural sciences, however, other Bachelor degrees may be considered at the discretion of the recruitment panel in consultation with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services.
- Membership or affiliation with a relevant professional association will be highly regarded.
- For Program Delivery Officers specialising in the delivery of sexual offending programs you will be provided with training in the use of relevant assessment tools to provide appropriate treatment. This training is a mandatory requirement following appointment to a PDO position.
