The Australian International Institute of Higher Education (AIIHE) is a registered Higher Education Institute approved by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). AIIHE has two approved CRICOS sites in Brisbane and Sydney.
AIIHE is seeking to appoint a Research Librarian for the proposed Business Research Program:
Position Overview:
The Research Librarian plays a crucial role in supporting the research community at AIIHE by managing the institutional repository, enhancing the visibility of research outputs, and delivering expert guidance on scholarly communication. The role includes providing research skills training, managing open-access initiatives, and engaging with faculty and students to support information literacy and research development. The Research Librarian also provides strategic oversight of systems and research support portfolios, ensuring alignment with the library’s objectives and contributing to service innovation and continuous improvement.
Selection Criteria:
To thrive in this role, applicants must demonstrate the following (responses to selection criteria must be submitted as a separate document):
• A relevant degree qualification granting eligibility for Associate level membership of ALIA with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective engagement and partnership building with clients and stakeholders.
• Experience in designing and delivering innovative library services, particularly programs focused on information literacy, research support, or research training.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead projects that enhance the client experience, ensuring goals are met, timelines are realised, and outcomes are successfully delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive initiatives to improve the visibility and usage of AIIHE’s research outputs.
• Manage the institutional repository and support open-access publishing initiatives.
• Provide guidance on DOIs, research metrics, and scholarly communication to maximise research impact.
• Develop and deliver workshops, training, and resources on research skills, citation management, and advanced search techniques.
• Engage with faculty and researchers to provide research consultations, both in person and online.
• Ensure alignment with library objectives and foster continuous improvement across library sites.
• Lead initiatives to enhance library infrastructure and services.

Remuneration:
An appropriate award rate will be offered to the successful candidate, depending on the combination of skills and experience.
